We Are Hiring: High-Commission Sales & Business Development Representative (Event Hospitality & Staffing Solutions)

Are you a highly driven, persuasive sales professional with a passion for the events industry? Do you thrive in field sales, proactive B2B outreach, and closing high-value deals? We are looking for an experienced Sales & Business Development Representative to expand our client base, identify upcoming high-profile events, and drive revenue through strategic partnerships.

About the Role

This is a dynamic, highly flexible, and field-oriented position focused on B2B client acquisition across the event ecosystem. You will be responsible for mapping out upcoming events, approaching key decision-makers, presenting our service packages, and converting prospective leads into paying bookings.

Because this is a 100% commission-based role, your income potential is completely uncapped—you will earn 10% on the total contract value of every deal you successfully close.

Detailed Key Responsibilities

1. Market Research & Lead Generation

  • Identify and track upcoming events across target regions, including corporate conferences, symposiums, gala dinners, SACCO AGMs, product launches, high-profile private celebrations, and award ceremonies.
  • Map out target organizations, event planning agencies, corporate marketing teams, venue managers, and institutional event coordinators.

2. Proactive B2B Outreach & Direct Field Sales

  • Conduct direct, office-to-office visits to build rapport, introduce our offerings, and establish direct contact with key event organizers.
  • Plan and execute targeted email marketing campaigns to prospective B2B clients and event planners.
  • Engage prospects through cold calling, structured networking, and face-to-face sales presentations.

3. Sales Pipeline & Activity Tracking (Excel / Google Sheets)

  • Log and update all sales activities, contacts, field visits, pending proposals, and deal statuses daily using standardized MS Excel or Google Sheets tracking logs.
  • Maintain complete transparency over your pipeline, submitting regular activity reports for review.

4. Consultation, Pricing & Proposal Negotiation

  • Thoroughly understand our service catalog, client packages, operational capabilities, and pricing structures.
  • Accurately quote prices, prepare customized service proposals, negotiate terms, and address client inquiries or objections with complete confidence.
  • Close bookings and manage the client relationship smoothly from initial contact through contract signing.

On-boarding & Work Structure

  • Mandatory Orientation: Upon selection, you will undergo a comprehensive 3-day to 1-week in-person training program. During this period, we will walk you through our complete service catalog, competitive positioning, operational standards, pricing guidelines, and target client personas.
  • Work Setup: Highly flexible and field-based, combining on-the-ground client visits, office drop-ins, and remote communication (email, phone, video calls).

Compensation & Incentive Structure

  • 100% Commission-Based: Earn a 10% commission on the total contract value for every booking or contract you secure.
  • Uncapped Income Potential: The larger and more frequent the events you close, the higher your earnings.
  • Performance Autonomy: Complete freedom to structure your sales schedule, target markets, and outreach methods.

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in B2B sales, field marketing, business development, or client acquisition (experience within events, hospitality, or corporate services is highly preferred).
  • Track Record & References: Must provide proven client recommendations or testimonials from previous sales roles, along with at least 2 to 3 professional referees.
  • Education: A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field is a distinct advantage.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in MS Excel / Google Sheets for clear, continuous reporting of daily sales activities and pipeline management.
    • Practical experience using email marketing strategies for direct B2B outreach and lead nurturing.
  • Interpersonal Skills:
    • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
    • High level of confidence, professional presentation, and persuasion skills for office-to-office visits and executive pitching.
    • Self-starter attitude with high discipline, integrity, and strong time management skills.
